My homemade Rorschach costume for Halloween 2009 Mask: – White terry cloth from Fabricland ~ per 1/2 metre – Small packet of black fabric paint (for static image) ~ @ DeSerres – Black thermochromic pigment (for “moving” image) ~ for a tiny bottle on e-bay (tons leftover) – Transparent fabric base paint (to mix with pigment) ~ @ DeSerres – Some wax paper and masking tape (for stencil pattern) ~Free – Sponge (used as paintbrush for stenciling) ~ for 3 Coat: – Grey trench coat ~ @ Value Village – Brown spray paint (fabric safe) ~ @ Michael’s – Twist-ties (for shoulder strap) ~Free Pants: – Dark pinstripe dress pants ~ @ Value Village Other: – Leather gloves ~Free if you have a pair – Scarf (used left over mask material) – Smiley button ~Free (was a gift but you can easily make one) – Shoes ~Free (wore my own shoes) Total cost before tax (minus trial & error attempts): ~
